Below is ground level with a glass elevator in the middle with wrap around stairs to the second level. Included on the ground level are bathrooms, customer service, and a storage area. This level is mainly for displaying of electronics. Views mainly from this level are for pedestrians looking in.The second level has an outside baldcony for customers to go out and use electronics like they would in everyday life. The Internet cafe is located on this level with plenty of spaces to sit and relax with friends or to research products. This level is mainly for customers to come, relax, and socialize with other customers. Merchandise is not on display on this level. Sections

Here is a section of the east side facade. The small balcony that is cut on the third level faces the Church. This sections shows the relationship of the balcony and the 2nd and 3rd levels. The three windows on the 3rd floor balcony provides sun to the second level and also a preview from the second level to the balcony. This section of the south side of the building provides view of all three levels. The round platform is a recessed ceiling on the first level.
This section shows is cut through the side facing the New Old Church. Customers are able to review the 2nd level through the 3rd level balcony windows. The spaces are open enough for electronic equipment use.

Int./Ext. Views with Intent

Here is a view of the exterior facade. The balcony gives the customers the opportunity to use the merchandise inside or outside.

The large store front picture windows gives maximum sunlight and views into the interior space.

The first level interior space has computers on desks for the customers use. It allows the customers to have panaoramic views Copley Square. Pedestrians can also have views into the space to see the merchandise. The interior second level lets the customers use the products as they are displayed. This level has views to the outside balcony and plus window views up to the third level balcony. The round elevated platform in the middle is a secondary stopping point to the third balcony. Large flat monitors are on display for customer information.

Updated Pictures

Here are a couple updated pictures in some context. The top view shows more of the front facade with trees in front of it. The horizontal balcony allows the customers to use the merchandise in more of an everyday use and provides a panaramic view of Boston. It gives an unrestricted view of the nearby buildings for the photographer in all of us.

Below is a picture of both the north and the west side of the facade. The two balconies allow customers to shop, use products, and have a picture perfect view of Copley Sq. The store front glass panels gives a view of the interior and the products for window shoppers.
I have sections of the model in context. The sections will give you an idea of the interior spaces with shade and shadows.

Another Model

This is my first attempt at a clay model. I wanted to try clay because I can carve spaces out or add spaces to it for the next 4 or so weeks. Of course it is very heavy so I can't move it far. I wanted to add a picture of the model to a picture that I had of the site but I can't get the angles right. I will have to cut the surrounding buildings out tomorrow and put them next to my building so you can get a better sense of context. In context it will give you a better idea of what the design of the building is. I am also going to put some scale figues in the model to give you a better idea of scale.

Preliminary Model

This is a preliminary model I have put together. It didn't come out the way I expected so I am going to make another model tonight. I will also be making another detailed model as I design the building.

I am having a hard time putting my pictures into context. I am not getting the angles just right. What are other people doing?
